family life: comparison , conclusion and reflection
Comparison of grandparents’ answers with parents’ answers :
There is a huge difference between our grandparents and our parents’ generation concerning family life.
Grandparents raised their children in a stricter way whereas today’s parents allow us to do things they couldn’t do when they were young. For example, they let us go out with friends, have a boyfriend / girlfriend, go to parties.
Grandparents did not give a lot of freedom to their children because they did not really trust them.
Comparison of parents’ answers :
Today, our generation’s parents are more open-minded. They know they can trust us and consider us as mature and responsible for our actions.
Conclusion :
We can conclude that family life has evolved since our grandparents’ generation. Values are more or less the same (honesty, help, trust) but the rules were stricter in our grandparents’time.

Reflection:
What went well?
It was easy to gather information.
We enjoyed talking to Indian students thanks to a videoconference.
We liked using digital tools in the English class. It was different from a traditional English class.
What didn't go well?
It was difficult to write long paragraphs in English as we often didn’t have the vocabulary and grammar to communicate in English.
We were not able to do the tasks in time.
What we could have done differently:
We should start earlier with the interviews and research report.
What we learnt about our topic:
We learnt that values have not changed a lot over the past generations. Trust, respect, honesty are some of them. We also learnt that these values are also important to Indian teenagers and their parents and grandparents.
